About Us
February 4, 2012 // 0 CommentsThe Brady Report started out as a simple conversation with my buddy Cuauhtemoc Chamorro at InstallShield back around 2000. We were going to the Pita Hut (Pita House?) for lunch and I was probably talking his ear off about some new tech I had come across and as we entered the building he turned to me and said “so when can I subscribe to the brady report?” I’ve always had a passion for tech starting in the late 70′s when my father, a high school math teacher, brought home a Commodore PET for the summer. The school was getting a few of them for the next school year and as the math department head, he needed to learn how to use it. I was about 10 at the time and my passion for technology is still as strong as ever.
I’ve worked for a number of companies in my career including Supra Corporation (Modems for Commodore, Amiga, Mac), Diamond Multimedia (acquired Supra), US Robotics (56k Modems), 3Com, InstallShield Software, BFG Technologies (PC Gaming Video cards) and a few others. Over the years my interest has turned more towards software, usability and user experience.
The goal of The Brady Report is to report tech news, let people know about interesting things that have to do with technology and the occasional rant – usually related to usability or the lack there of.
We’ll have a specific focus in 2012 on Home Media and “cutting the cord” as it relates to the insane fees being charged by cable companies. There are a lot of options out there and we want to make sure people know about them.
We’ll also post recommendations and reviews on hardware, software, mobile tech and other things we use so please drop us a line if you would like a recommendation or review.
